Hello! I'm Rylan Baker, and in this portfolio, I'm going to share a little bit about my self. Including my hobbies, goals, noteworthy accomplishments and general information about myself.
A little bit about me
For starters, I'm 17 years old, and currently a 1st year student at Sheridan College. I'm currently taking Computer Systems Technology, Analysis and Design (Though I've considered switching it to Software Development and Network Design).Since I was young, I always had an interest in how people made websites, programs, video games, and many more things. It's always been a dream of mine to way day learn how to develop software and websites. Through this program, I have learned the basics of tele communication, Python, cimputer mathematics and the basics of HTML5, CSS and Site features. I learned a good chunk of Python and Java in highschool (respectively Grade 11 and 12), which led me to pursue in computer programming post-secondary. Through those courses, I have made a handfull of programs and even some games which I personally believe I a very proud of. One game was a platformer, albeit visually unimpressive, this was my first taste of freedom using Python, and I've loved to program ever since. Another was a group project with a friend where we made an turn based RPG game. We were on a time contraint, so the game wasn't as fleshed out as I'd like it to be, but we got down a basic combat system and world map, where, if expanded on, could've been the groundwork for a future project of mine. This project also just helped me improve my Java skills.
